Instructors
Grandmaster Sang Hee Kim (Head Instructor)Born in South Korea, Master Kim has been practicing martial arts since he was 9 years old. He has trained in Tang Soo Do, Hapkido, Taekwondo, Hanol Kuk Moo Ye and Krav Maga. His accomplishments include awards from several Pan-Am Games and a 7th degree black belt in Taekwondo, a 7th degree black belt in Tang Soo Do as well as a 6th degree black belt in Hanol Kuk Moo Ye and 5th degree black belt in Hapkido. A veteran in South Korean military Master Kim he has trained Korean and U.S military and police in hand-to-hand combat. He currently operates two schools one in Pennington and one in West Windsor. He has a wife and two children, Eddie and Lauren.
Anu Avhad (Instructor)
Anu started at Victory Taekwondo in 2003. He has been training for 10 years and is a 3rd degree black belt. Anu has competed at numerous competitions and holds medals in forms and sparring. In 2012 Anu won Gold at the Big East XIX tournament. Anu works full-time with Victory Taekwondo at the Pennington location.
2nd Degree Black Belts (Aid Assistant Instructors)
Many of the school's 2nd degree black belts help Grandmaster Kim and Anu Avhad run classes. These students are asked to instruct others before attempting to attain the next belt.

Taekwondo, which is a national martial art of Korea, is one of the proudest cultural heritages for the Korean people. Taekwondo has been developed into a modern sport as a result of painstaking researches and experiences by the Taekwondo practicioners through their incessant upgrading of technical and spiritual refinement. At the same time, it has been firmly established as a real national martial art enabling the people to defend the nation.
The Definition
Translated literally "Tae" stands for jumping or flying, to kick or smash with the foot. "Kwon" denotes the fist-chiefly to punch or destroy with the hand or fist. "Do" means an art or way - the right way built and paved by the saints and sages in the past.
Thus taken collectively "Taekwon-Do" indicates the mental training and the techniques of unarmed combat for self-defence as well as health, involving the skilled application of punches, kicks, blocks and dodges with bare hands and feet to the rapid destruction of the moving opponent or opponents.
